Myanmar: Earthquake
A devastating 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck central Myanmar on 28 March at 1:10 PM local time, with its epicenter just 17 kilometers from Mandalay. This was followed by a powerful 6.4 magnitude aftershock, intensifying the destruction. Entire buildings have collapsed, key infrastructure has been severely damaged, and communications remain cut off in many areas. The Myanmar Red Cross Society volunteers have mobilized rapidly - rescuing survivors, providing pre-hospital care including first aid, distributing emergency shelter materials, and reconnecting families. They urgently need help to scale up.
