Today, when millions of people around the world are lacking care and security, Moomin Characters has teamed up with its longstanding partner The Red Cross in 15 countries to gather funds for those in need.

Tove Jansson wrote The Moomins and the Great Flood as a means to comfort herself during the dark years of the Second World War. The Moominhouse is a symbol of security, shelter and a sense of belonging.

Trust has been a central resource of the German Red Cross for more than 150 years. It is in the very own interest of the GRC to preserve this trust and to re-establish it again and again. The GRC therefore considers itself under an obligation to provide the greatest possible transparency to the state and society, especially with regard to the people entrusted to us who are in need of help. Against this background, the GRChas developed its own minimum standards for the association as a whole, which are implemented as part of a voluntary commitment.
