The situation is worsening every day

Both the staff and the volunteers of the Georgia Red Cross Society are fully involved in supporting the authorities in the fight against the virus:
  • Distributing personal safety information about COVID-19 to around 1,5 million of individuals across the country;
  • Delivering food and hygienic parcels tomore than 3,000 lonely older people daily throughout Georgia;
  • Recruitingand training volunteers to provide psychological support tothose affected by the virus toovercome panic and stress via the Georgia Red Cross Society Hotline (0 800 000 018) and the psychosocial platform;
  • Providingassistance to3,000 people with specific needs through the Home Care program.
  • Supporting relevant institutions in rapid testing of health workers, journalists, volunteers, and other groups.

The Georgia Red Cross has had a surge of volunteers who dedicate their time 24/7 to support vulnerable people and deliver Red Cross services.
