Cuba: Hurricane Melissa
Hurricane Melissa, one of the most powerful storms ever recorded in the Caribbean, has devastated eastern Cuba with winds up to 295 km/h, torrential rains, and massive flooding. Homes have collapsed, communities are isolated, and hundreds of thousands have lost access to safe water and electricity. Meanwhile, an ongoing arbovirus outbreak worsens health risks. The Cuban Red Cross is providing emergency shelter, safe water, health and psychosocial support, while working to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. Urgent help is needed to reach more families.
