Since the 17th of September, the war in Lebanon has escalated rapidly and the death and destruction has reached all areas of the country. Tens of thousands of families are displaced and looking for safety away from the most severely affected areas.
The Lebanese Red Cross (LRC) is on the frontlines of the response. Our volunteers and staff are working tirelessly to provide urgent health and disaster response services across the country.
All donations received are being allocated to the following response objectives:
- Ambulance response & Search and Rescue: our ambulance volunteers are currently on the frontline of the response in all areas and also help to evacuate hospitals who are overflowing.
- Blood transfusion services: wounded who need blood rely on the Red Cross to supply safe blood units
- Primary Healthcare: we provide medications and physician consultations, with a focus on chronic diseases. Currently we are deploying mobile clinics to provide care to those who are displaced.
- Disaster Relief: we provide relief to the displaced in the form of blankets, shelter assistance, food items, hygiene items, and water & sanitation services
The LRC is also coordinating with local municipalities, and other NGOs and INGOs to ensure a more seamless and coordinated response, ensuring a wider reach to the affected population.
