For over two years of the full-scale war, 1,619 medical facilities have been damaged, and 214 have been destroyed, which accounts for over 61% of all medical facilities registered in the country’s healthcare system. Hospitals, maternity wards, clinics, dental offices, and even unique medical centres have come under fire. Emergency medical vehicles have also suffered: 175 have been damaged, 261 destroyed, and 125 seized.
At the same time, Ukrainians have received 963,474 medical consultations from the Ukrainian Red Cross mobile health units. We have diagnosed diseases, provided medicines, and, in some cases, even saved lives. We have been to places without access to medicine, where people are waiting for help. Today, 124 mobile health units operate in 23 regions of Ukraine. Each unit comprises a doctor, two nurses, and a driver and is equipped with a vehicle to facilitate visits to the most remote communities.
